With a little creativity, you can create almost a whole new look for your bathroom inexpensively.
- Mount a shelf on the wall to display collectibles.
- Add a live plant or fresh flowers to the bathroom.
- Replace your shower curtain with an attractive new one.
- Repaint the walls. Use a light shade for brightness.
- Place soaps, bath salts, or other small toiletries in a rustic bowl or pretty candy dish.
- Hang some inexpensive framed prints on the wall, or replace the ones that are already there.
- Decorate with a few candles strategically placed. These can be lighted for a soothing effect while bathing.
- Replace toilet seats, towel holders, and toilet paper holders.
- Purchase some inexpensive organizing storage shelves, boxes, and bin to organize and store bathroom items.
- Get rid of the clutter. It’s surprising how much more spacious a bathroom can feel when all the clutter is put away neatly.
- Install additional towel bars or towel rings, to minimize the temptation to toss used towels on the floor. An over-the-door bar is a good spot for extra towel bars if you’re short on wall space.
- Install decorative hooks for hanging robes, shower caps, and any other "hangable" items.
- Replace old worn-out bath mats or bathroom rugs with inexpensive new ones.
- Go on a shopping spree at a local discount store for inexpensive tissue box holders, soap dishes, frames, shelf units, storage shelves, and other storage and decorative items.
- Put the bathroom trash container out of sight in the cabinet under the sink.
- Replace the lightbulbs with brighter, higher-watt bulbs.
- Install additional lighting fixtures.
- Install new drawer pulls and cabinet door handles. For such a small change, these can make a world of difference in your bathroom’s appearance.
- Hang some mirrors on the walls. Nothing opens up space and brightens a room like mirrors.
